DETROIT (WXYZ) – A federal grant will help Detroiters train for work in the state’s growing film industry.
Governor Jennifer Granholm, Mayor Dave Bing and Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano announced Monday the $438,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor will go to the Detroit Workforce Development Department, which is a Michigan Works! agency. The DWDD film technician training program will provide hands-on education in the film production and employment opportunities in the industry.
